Washington School Broadcast Club - Application Due Nov. 24th

Traditionally, Washington School facilitates a Broadcast Club that allows students to Livestream the news to their fellow classmates. Although our circumstances are different, we’d like to try our best to keep some Washington traditions intact. With that being said, our 5th Graders are invited to apply for the Broadcast Club. Typically, we do this live in the Media Den however, we will adapt and use FlipGrid to pre-record our lines to then be broadcasted “live” on Wednesday mornings.

If accepted, students will be required to meet virtually during their lunch period 1 day a week, to prepare their lines and record themselves on FlipGrid to later be live-streamed on a private YouTube channel to the classrooms. We will Livestream Wednesday mornings from 8:00 am - 8:15 am on Hybrid Days and 8:40 am - 8:55 am on Virtual Days.

Due to the expected high volume of participation, students will be asked to submit an audition video via FlipGrid as part of their application. In addition, students applying for the Broadcast club must complete the form attached by Tuesday, November 24th. The first production crew will be notified Monday, November 30th before the first meeting.

Please feel free to contact me via email with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you for your cooperation with this exciting endeavor!
